SINGLETON MISSES MEDAL

TEAM Baths Georgina Singleton (pictured) just missed out on the medals at the European Judo Championships when finishing fifth.

Singleton battled her way through to a bronze medal match in the under-52kg class in Lisbon, Portugal, but went down to Romanias Ioana-Maria Aluas Dinea, losing out to an Ippon just over three minutes into the contest.

Singleton had earlier beaten Aynur Samat of Turkey and Monika Cabaj of Poland, before going down to Frances Audrey La Rizza in her third preliminary round bout.

In the repechage, Singleton then defeated Italys Antonio Cuomo and Finlands Jaana Sundberg to set up a battle for bronze.
